OCZ announces SSDs with 260 MByte / s sequential read rate

OCZ announces SSDs with 260 MByte / s sequential read rate

The flash drives use controller of Sand Force compaq presario v2000 battery. They should either be available with SATA or SAS interface. OCZ is planning capacity 50-400 GB.

OCZ Technology has announced a new Solid State Drive series, which will be equipped with controllers of Sand Force. These allow sequential read and write rates of 260 MByte / s.

The read performance of the chip models SF-1200 and SF-1500 Sand Force are 30,000 entry instructions per second (IOPS) to compaq presario cq60 battery. The write performance of the SF-1200 is 10,000 IOPS, while the SF-1500 also provides 30 000 IOPS. For this latter has a higher 950 mW typical power consumption, the SF-1200 comes with 550 mW. At rest satisfied both with 50 mW.

OCZ wants to deliver the new SSDs with different interfaces lenovo thinkpad x60 battery. In addition to a 3-GBit/s-SATA-Interface 6-GBit/s-SAS-Schnittstelle should also be used. The storage specified by the manufacturer with 50 to 400 GByte.

Depending on the model, OCZ wants single-level cell (SLC) or multi-level cell NAND Flash (MLC block). Thus, the new drives to both companies and are suitable for home users. First in the new SSD series will announce the manufacturer to the COMPAQ 2010 in January.
